[Development Case] Input/Output Board Driver Development

We will introduce a case where a general-purpose driver was developed to ensure the operation of digital/analog input/output boards.

We would like to introduce a case study of "Input/Output Board Driver Development" conducted by TCC Corporation. This system was developed to run on a certain manufacturer's FA computer, equipped with Wind River's embedded real-time OS: VxWorks, and to operate the manufacturer's digital/analog input/output board by developing a general-purpose driver. As a result, we were able to add VxWorks, an OS with high reliability and safety, to the lineup of A control equipment manufacturer's PC. 【Implementation Effects and Points】 ■ We were able to add VxWorks, an OS with high reliability and safety, to the lineup of A control equipment manufacturer's PC. ■ We customized the Intel Pentium 4 BSP included with WorkBench to create a general-purpose driver that does not depend on the type of input/output board for a certain company. *For more details, please refer to the related link page or feel free to contact us.

Things Not Taught in School: How to Access Devices

Not taught in school! An introduction to the points to consider when developing device drivers in a column.

One of the major tasks in embedded systems is the development of programs (device drivers) that directly control hardware (devices). This is a field where experience speaks more than in application development, and due to the essential knowledge of hardware, it could be said that this is, in a sense, the essence of embedded systems. Even though we refer to "devices" in general, there are many devices surrounding the CPU these days. This means that we must develop a wide variety of device drivers. *For detailed content of the column, you can view it through the related links. Introduction of contracted development examples for microcontroller peripheral device driver development.

Introducing case studies of embedded system development by MicroNet Co., Ltd.

Our company has various examples of contracted development for embedded systems, and as one example, we will introduce a case of contracted development for microcontroller peripheral device driver development. We received a request from a circuit board design and manufacturing company for a driver for the SH2A microcontroller's peripheral devices, as well as an inquiry about whether the peripheral device control routines could be turned into a library. Based on our previous development achievements, we proposed that it was possible to create a library for the device drivers. We designed and delivered a driver library for the SH2A microcontroller peripherals and also provided the interface specifications for the library. [Requests] ■ We want a driver for the SH2A microcontroller's peripheral devices. ■ Is it possible to turn the peripheral device control routines into a library? *For more details, please refer to our catalog or feel free to contact us.
